Moved manual ordering, order lookup and product management onto an API and an admin dashboard.

Situation

At a retail and distribution company, the operations team handled purchase orders, order lookups and product data by hand.

What I did

Built purchase order, order and product management APIs on AWS Lambda with the Serverless Framework, backed by MySQL
Built an admin dashboard in Retool so the team could use the new system right away

Result

The team’s operations work went from 20 hours to 2 hours, a 90% reduction.
